Oh ps if you don't know what I am talking about when I say "I have a boutique" the boutiques that I do are basically a ton of other people who sell/make things (aka vendors) join these little 3 day shops (aka boutiques) to sell our things and go crazy a little preparing :) The ones I'm doing are apparently really huge and so ideally I would love to have like at LEAST 100 signs for each there. Jason thinks I'm so weird that I want to make 100 signs but I would rather be over stocked than not have enough of what each person wants, ya know? Or I'm crazy. Oh also, in case you're so confused at what signs I'm even talking about, I make wood signs *surprise!* and they can be found here.
Basically I'm really excited right now because my sister in law, Andrea, does calligraphy and has a shop called Little Kit Design and basically this week we've been trading babysitting for her writing phrases for me for signs aka new designs!! Hopefully this isn't too boring of a post but this is my life, getting excited about designs and working all day everyday! I always feel bad because it seems like when I'm the busiest, that's when people want to hang out and do all these fun things and I have to either 1. get behind on signs to be social or 2. not be social and stay on track haha ahhh the struggle!!
I am kind of just wanting to blog and wanting to throw my thoughts out here and just be so ranty and random so thank you for bearing with me as I sort out all my thoughts and get out of my head for 2 seconds.
Oh and lastly, I have officially been making these signs for a year!!!! It's been a lot of learning, messing up, more learning, lots of late nights, and growing experience and I still cannot believe what it is today. I literally made a sign for our house one day, posted it on instagram and facebook and it exploded!! Jason is a really big help when it comes to signs, I usually have him cut the wood and then when I have a ton to do, I'll ask him to paint for me. :) He's busy with school and work so he is so helpful when he can be and holy crap I couldn't do it without him! A lot of you guys have helped keep me busy and I am so grateful for all of you and your orders and support and love and kind words and etc etc etc. Thank you!!! Happy yearavirsary to Framed!

Wow honestly I would've never known that you've been doing it for only a year! It looks like you've been making them forever! Congratulations on being in all these boutiques =) I'll have to see if there's anything like that near me, I've only looked into farmer's markets so far where they also have a bunch of crafts.
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm working I just turn on HGTV in the background.. House Hunters or something like it on Netflix. Kinda stays in the creative realm of things haha
Ahhh thank you, J!!! You should totally look into doing different boutiques and pop up shops, there's usually facebook groups in different areas specifically for finding different boutiques going on :) That's such a good idea to listen to HGTV!! I already love all the shows on there and they don't really require much attention so I think I'll do that. Thanks for the suggestion!!
DeleteThat is so awesome you have been doing it for a year now. Congrats! I love the merry and bright one. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Emily!! It's flown by kinda!

DeleteGirl your signs are soooo good. Happy anniversary :) I cannot wait to see what new designs you'll come up with, awesome SIL for her calligraphy. I still want to buy one, just haven't picked out one and then your coupons always expire before I can buy one >_< we also havent picked out a place it would look good to have a sign.
ReplyDeleteliz @ sundays with sophie
Thank you!! She is so dang talented with her calligraphy, I wish I had that skill haha but for now I'll just do trades with her :) I want to to a black Friday coupon so it will be coming up!!
DeleteI still cannot get over how beautiful and amazing your signs are! Like STOP IT! I feel dumb buying more wall art, since I don't have my own house...and my walls are full....but I think I'm going to have to order myself an early Christmas present from Framed soon! I just cannot get enough of your work and I need one :)

Thank you SO much, Sarah!! Girl I bet you are super creative and you're just saying that ;) haha ohhhh Hallmark Christmas movies are the best! And it's finally the season to watch them!!
DeleteYou go, girl! A year! I'm so impressed! I love all of your signs - they are so incredible. I love that you get the calligraphy from your sister-in-law and that your husband helps put together the pallets. It's like a family thing. :) Very sweet. Kudos to you for your super success! I can only imagine how busy you are this time of year with people wanting Christmas presents and Christmas decor. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! I have 2 signs with her calligraphy so far and I LOVE IT so much haha It is for sure such a crazy time of year but I also LOVE the busyness of the season so I say bring it on! :)
DeleteHappy Anniversary! I hit mine in August, but totally missed it because I was too busy (I guess that's a good thing?) But I'm 6 sales away from the 1,000th sale, so I'll definitely make a huge deal out of that! You awesome girl
ReplyDeleteThank youuu!! Yay for our shops!! :) You are probably at like 2000 sales by the time I'm replying to this haha your stuff better be in Hobby Lobby this year!
DeleteIt's always wonderful seeing your work, brand, and boutique grow! Congrats on working for over a year - that's such a huge mile stone!! Everything is looking so beautiful and instagram worthy :) I hope it continues for many more years to come!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mouna!! You are seriously so so sweet! I hope it continues to grow, too :) Thanks for sending your good vibes over here!
DeleteHappy first anniversary! I can't believe it's only been one year and they look so amazing! I totally thought you have been doing this for years. As for background TV, maybe try listening to a podcast or audiobook instead! There are so many good ones and your eyes won't be led astray. I used to listen to them all the time when I had a long commute to work and had to focus on driving. But that said, I am SO excited for Fuller House!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Evelina!! I really love that podcast/ audio book idea. When I watch a show I look up every now and then but with a podcast type thing I could just listen and enjoy :) Thank you for that great idea!! And I seriously CANNOT WAIT for fuller house! ahhH!!!!!
DeleteHappy first year! You are insanely talented! Fingers crossed all goes as planned and we move into a house next spring. I'll for sure order something from you! This is so my style! (: Good luck at your boutique show and have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you soooo much, Kiki!! :) Oh my gosh so exciting you're moving into a HOUSE! I would love to assist in filling youre new walls with signs haha :) Thank YOU!!
DeleteHappy anniversary! & thank you for doing what you do, I know that I love it as I've added to your workload with a couple new signs. Gotta get 'em in by Christmas & I know that the recipients will LOVE them as much as I do...heck, I even got myself one & I cannot wait to see how it comes out! Eeek! Thanks again & keep up the good work, girlie! :)
ReplyDeleteThank YOU for being such a blessing and supporter of my crazy signs :) You are the best of the best, Mandie!! xo

Thank you soooo much, Olivia!! :)
DeleteFull house is a great pick to watch while you work! I’d always vote for being overstocked – hoping you sell them all! Congrats with the one year mark – looks like your business is blooming greatly!
ReplyDeleteI loveeee Full House!! haha :) Thank you, I hope so, too!! I love this little shop of mine :)
Deletecongrats on your business! if it's working it's because you're giving the best of you. good luck for the next boutiques!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Irene!! You are so so so nice to say that :) I work really hard and I am so glad that I have such wonderful costumers. They are such a blessing!
DeleteWait, full house is on netflix??! Is that true?? If so I need to start that as my "busy" show too. I always have to have something on in the background and I just finished that 70s show again lol. But anyways, happy signiversary!! That has got to be a good feeling that a year later you are doing so well with it! I love the "good vibes only" sign! Well, I love them all, but I think that one is so cute. I just want my house covered in good affirmations lol. I think I just love words. John has this sign that says" anyone can be cool, but being awesome takes practice." Lol.....this is the first apartment I did not put it anywhere, I hid it in the closet because it's stupid lol. But other than that I love wordy signs. And that is soo cool your sister in law can kept with the lettering. It's seriously a life goal of mine to learn calligraphy. My aunt does it and growing up I was just enamored with her writing. Even now when I get something in the mail from her I like swoon. And don't apologize for ranting on your own blog, that's what it's for right!!!!!

DeleteI WISH it was on netflix!!! haha I got to this websire > http://thewatchseries.to/ I just started watching the Kardashians haha it literally has every single episode of like every show ever. I love it! Just be careful cause if you don't have an ad blocker... there are some very... gross add. Like anime weird stuff haha soooo I just keep my ad blocker on when I go to that site! hahah I have hid some of Jason's old poster things that I hope never emerge and make it to our walls. I love good affirmations and I should probably adorn my walls in them, too. I want to see your walls and decor! Inspire me!! haha I have tried to write like her and I can't. No matter how careful I am. It is so so gorgeous!
DeleteWebsite* wow obviously I need spell check... haha
DeleteI love your signs! What a fun & busy time of year! 'Tis the season!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Laura!!
Deletei think they turned out so well! that's awesome you can concentrate and get them done. 100! i hope you sold them all :)
